What's e-Notification?

The e-Notification project was started on 29 June 2015 with the aim of improving the Quality and Efficiency of the Legal and Criminal Justice System, Strengthening the Notification System, and improving electronic services in the judiciary.

e-Notification is the electronic sending of official documents that need to be communicated to individuals by the authorities authorized to issue notifications.

In order to make an electronic notification to the person, the person must have a KEP (Registered Electronic Mail) address suitable for notification and have notified this address to the authority that will issue the notification.

An electronic notification has the same legal consequences as a physical notification. With the project, the notification process, which takes weeks in the physical environment, is completed in seconds in the electronic environment.

Impact

e-Notification appeals to a wide audience. By evaluating reports about usage of this service, feedbacks and active usage, studies and efforts are on-going to make the service more user-friendly and to provide new and statistical information according to demand. Also, thanks to meetings with the call centers that have been set up, it becomes possible to survey satisfaction and complaints and to solve to the problems of usage.

Challenges

For the establishment of the e-Notification system and its healthy operation, it was necessary to carry out various extra studies on secure and dependable information and communication technologies integrations in cooperation with other relevant institutions such as the Turkish Post (PTT) and banks. The reluctance showed by practitioners to adapt their habits to innovations was one of the challenges faced in the project.
